Amira specialises in leadership development, particularly coaching and mentoring. She has thirty years experience in the Education sector and supports organisations with leadership development. She has a Master of Education (First Class Hons) in Educational Leadership with specialisation in mentoring and coaching. She is an ICF trained coach (EOCC) and also a Public Service Commission (LDC) approved coach for Public Services for Mid-level leaders of leaders, people and thought leaders. She is a certified coach for eDISC profiling which is the tool we will be discussing for unpacking personality strengths. This workshop will be presented through her business, LeadershipCoaching.

Amira currently works for Tātai Aho Rau, Core Education as a kaiārahi (mentor and coach) and lead facilitator who specialises in mentoring/coaching and the development of leadership capabilities. She supports tumuaki, leaders of Kāhui Ako and kaiako to develop their teaching and leadership pedagogy. She runs workshops on the development of mentoring and coaching skills, growing leadership capacity, building effective teams and school culture and the art of courageous conversations.

In a private capacity, Amira supports leaders in business to develop their ability to grow others in their organisations through mentoring and coaching. She also supports organisations to design and implement their own formalised mentoring and coaching programmes to grow leadership capacity from within. She offers training for leaders, such as the development of effective mentoring skills at The Canterbury Employers' Chamber of Commerce and courses in the art of courageous conversations. In the education sector, Amira works with principals and Board of Trustees in attesting to the requirements for Principal and Senior Leader Appraisal (for 2022) and Professional Growth Cycle (from 2023).
